How are mental health issues being addressed? Keppen Clanton is a “former Pandemic administrator with 27+ years in public education as a secondary principal and high school Biology teacher.” She is now a part of the Locust Street Mobile Crisis Response Team.

She will speak about “trauma, the impact of the Pandemic on rural educators’ and students’ mental health and how mental health is being addressed in rural communities.”

What Should We Know About Current Legislation and Pensions?– Cynthia Riseman Lund is a “Legislative Director for the IFT who monitors education, labor and employment policy and budget initiatives, and provides IFT members with research and analysis on legislative issues before the Illinois General Assembly.” Nick Yelverton“is the Legislative Director for the Illinois Federation of Teachers. He is in charge of monitoring and developing legislation in the area of pensions and higher education.”
